Ok right off the bat, I LOVE MUSIC! If music is not at least important to you, it probably won't work out with us. I'm a very creative person in general and I like to use my energy to write songs in my head (or on paper) and learn new languages and instruments. Some people view me as a dork for this but I'm not ashamed of who I am. I'm usually in a good mood. Again this seems to annoy some people. I'm pretty intelligent but I care more about common interests (like listening and performing music) than some sort of book smarts. I'm very accepting of different types of people for the most part, so feel free to message me and we can have a chat. This is like one of those 'tell me about yourself' questions in interviews. I always hate those. They don't care about me, they just care what I can do for their company, and if I'll fit. Luckily for me, I don't care about them, just if I want to work at their company and get money. So I give some bland boring answer 'oh, I'm hardworking, a pleasant person, ect ect ect'. Same thing here, except completely different. I could give some bland boring answer like 'oh, I'm funny, friendly, and I love to have fun'. Honestly, who doesn't love to have fun, or think their friendly or funny? Woo, I've just described every single person on this site. Aren't you just dying to talk to me already?

A few words aren't going to show someone who you are, or who you aren't other than a brief idea. Like the little blurb on the back of a really good book. Except, once you read the book, that blurb's rather meaningless to it, and usually has very little to do with the important parts. It's just an advertisement hoping to hook you into reading more. I've always found the best blurbs to have little to do with the book itself, however, and more to do with how the author comes across.

It's the same with people's profiles. I could tell you here that I love to cook, I'm a fairly decent poker player, that I love to go hang out at bars and parties and other social activities with my good friends, but that's not really me. That's just what I like to do. That, and apparently spout pseudo intellectual bull that makes me sound all smarty-pant-ish.

I edit a medical magazine, bought a house last year, read the New Yorker every week, and love music, from Bob Dylan to Radiohead to Aimee Mann to Gustav Mahler. I'm very laid back, intellectual and artistic; I can be quite shy at first but have a luminous personality when I start to loosen up. I prefer to listen as opposed to talking, giving as opposed to receiving and smoking instead of drinking. I have spent almost my entire career in the construction testing field but, due to the economy and inclement weather, am unemployed. My true dream is to become a poet and tour Europe, soaking in different cultures and inspirations along the way. I don't like drama or game playing.

I enjoy Italian food, cooking and singing. I have a love for many types of music but have to turn up the volume when Frank or Dino are on. I would like to own a nightclub someday. Swing music mabey. Red leather booths and a great big dance floor. If you can't dance then you got an issue with living life. Even if you can't dance, wiggle your fingers around and the rest of your body will catch up, lol.

I have found that a lot of women say they want a good guy, but really they don't. They are really secretly attracted to the bad boy types who will make their lives exciting for a few months with lavish attention, gifts, motorcycle/boating/travel adventures plus great sex. Then these guys dump them for a younger prettier woman as soon as the newbie pops up on his radar. There is a reason they are called bad boys ladies. If you really want one of them, try a biker bar. If you are actually into bad boys and are up front about it, I respect that totally. That is your choice and I admire you for being honest yourself. So many say one thing but do the opposite.

So I don't own a motorcycle. I have nothing against that. My oldest, best friends from grade school are Harley riders. They also have 8 marriages between the two of them and are currently living with women who are thirty years younger than us. (Wait a minute.... that is not all bad I guess! LMAO!!) My livelihood is dependant on my hands and I cannot risk them if I am forced to take my cycle down to the ground to avoid a collision. I do not think wearing a do-rag is a cool fashion statement. I floss, shower repeatedly, and keep my nails meticulously clean. Would you want my hands in your mouth if I was a dirty, smelly, scruffy guy? I do not drink to excess or party all night long. I usually will have 2-3 drinks max. I like to SLOW dance with my lady. My fast dancing is NOT a pretty sight. I am a slow Irish guy with no rythem.

If you are looking for a guy to talk nonstop and keep YOU entertained every minute of the day, good luck with finding that guy. If you find a guy like that he is either gay or is putting up with that for the time being to get into your pants. As far as the attracted to sad things go - it's more a love or rather passionate interest in things that might be labeled "gothic" to some. It's hard to find a girl who appreciates this sub-culture not matter what age. I'm really looking for someone who does, but is a bit introverted like me.

Just recently graduated from Illinois State University and have finally become a licensed teacher of the social sciences after student teaching this past fall. I never thought I would get into education but it seems promising still.

I'm a really nice and normal guy from the burbs, not like most other gay guys, don't do hook ups and I am definitely not fem. I am not saying that last sentence to be mean to others or judgmental, just explaining who I am. I work two jobs, I am a full time teacher and I do behavioral therapy for children with Autism as a side job, so I work a lot. Currently I am in grad school for my masters of ed. and bilingual and esl endorsements and am totally stoked about it all, the classes are not that fun but hey I'll be happy when I reach my goal. I have a great sense of humor and love to play practical jokes, I can tell lots of stories of past ones that I have done. I love going out for a good time, clubs, bars, movies, pool, mini golf, etc. I am pretty easy to entertain and always have a smile on my face. All around most any one who knows me will say that I am a very happy person. Right now I do want to find the right relationship, who doesn't, but I'm going to let that happen when it is right for me. Say hi some time, I am a very fun person to be around. And like I have said I have a great sense of humor and I definitely look for that in a guy too.

I recently just graduated with a kinesiology degree with a concentration in health and fitness. I just moved back to the suburbs and am getting adjusted to living back home after living in the city for three years.

I'm a huge sports guy. I love my Bulls, Bears, and bleed CUBBIE blue. Some people ask how I can cheer for the Cubs, and its hard to explain. Maybe I'm addicted to the heart break? I try to make it to Bulls and Cubs games every year...so if you love some of those teams, then definitely message me because you've already been in my dreams ;)

I'm a gym rat, and get to the gym every week. I love being able to take out stress at the gym, and it will continually be a part of my life. I love to laugh, and I really do believe that laughter is the best medicine for anything. I believe that maturity is knowing when to be immature. So I have my goofy side, but I know when to be serious. I love hanging out with my friends and just talking about stupid stuff, and always ending up laughing. I love making memories, and being able to tell people stories from them.

I'm one of those that believe chivalry isn't dead. I put people first, sometimes to a fault...but it is part of my personality and something I will always do with my career aspirations.

Most people that know me would probably say I am the funniest person they know. I am totally silly most of the time, have absolutley zero social anxiety, and have perfected the art of being a total jackass yet unbelievably charming at the same time. I tend to be a little sarcastic, but always have other's feelings in mind. I have always been one of the guys as far as my attitude and sense of humor go, so very little offends me- but I'm still kind of a girly girl. Basically, I am a total enigma.

Self summary. Yeah. About that. I'm complicated. I'm very honest. Most would describe it as brutal honesty, or sometimes bluntness or directness. I just consider it cutting the crap and getting to the point. I love music, movies, reading, and gaming. I've been rocking the Xbox 360 as of late... good times.

I'm very logical. It's just the way my brain works. I majored in math and computer science, so that tends to facilitate a more logical and objective view of the world.

I'm told I'm pretty damn funny, and my humor tends to have a more sarcastic tilt to it. Nothing is safe from humor - I take the South Park stance - either it's all okay to poke fun at, or none of it is.

So, that's me in a very, very small nutshell. I'm no good at writing about myself, but I'm excellent at answering questions and holding long conversations. So if you want to know something, just ask.

I usually come off very shy, but once you get to know me I can really open up. I'm very easy-going and can be a bit of a dork, I guess. I'm just as happy staying home, hanging out with friends, or going out to a bar. I'm definitely a girly-girl, but am very independent. I like movies, music, art, road trips, baking, and new experiences.

I think the simple things in life are the most important. Material things will never mean more than sweet words and kind actions.

I grew up in Iowa on a farm. I wrestled growing up. I have a degree in Laser/Electro-optics. In Aug 04 I moved to Apopka FL for my first real job...I lived there the last 4 1/2 years and then moved up here to be closer to my parents... So far everything is good but do not really enjoy going out to the bar scene around here... I like anything outdoors like; riding horses, camping, bond fires, going to the ocean, paintballing, shooting, fishing, and swimming at springs...
